Bangor Hydro Announces New Leadership
(Bangor)--Chris Huskilson, Chairman of the Board, Bangor Hydro Electric Company, has announced new leadership appointments at Bangor Hydro. Effective January 1, 2010, Gerard Chasse will serve in the role of President and COO of Bangor Hydro. Robert Hanf, former President and COO, will serve as Chief Executive Officer. In making his announcement, Mr. Huskilson said, "The Emera companies are working hard to achieve strategic goals which strengthen our businesses. Those goals include the safe, reliable, and cost effective delivery of energy to our customers in the region as well as the facilitation of renewable development. These appointments will help Emera and Bangor Hydro continue to evolve and grow."
Gerard Chasse most recently served as Executive Vice President of Operations. He joined Bangor Hydro in 1990 as an electrical engineer and has held numerous positions within the electrical engineering group, operations group, and senior management in the last 20 years. Gerard graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and is a registered professional engineer. He lives in Hampden with his wife and two sons.
Robert Hanf will continue to provide leadership and oversight at Bangor Hydro and will focus on advancing Bangor Hydro's strategic initiatives within Maine and the region. Prior to joining Bangor Hydro in 2007, Hanf served as General Counsel to Emera and its affiliates and was instrumental in many of Emera's commercial transactions.
